Bio

"dream big... worry small"

At seventeen, Madi is a senior honors student in Texas, where she is a member of the varsity choir.  She loved singing as early as three, asked for her first guitar at twelve and then had all the tools she needed to begin to write down the songs that endlessly ran through her heart and head. Her first public performance of an original song was for her 4th grade social studies class where, in place of a written report, she wrote and performed "The Potato Famine". Since then she has written nearly daily, creating a vault of over 500 songs  - about people and places - both real and imaginary.

2024 was an encouraging year, when local paper, Park Cities People featured an article on Madi being selected as a finalist in the JAS / Jazz Aspen Snowmass, 2024 national songwriters competition.  JAS is a non-profit organization established in 1991,  whose mission is to present and preserve jazz and related forms of music through world-class events, performances and educational programs.  In March 2024, Madi was notified by JAS CEO, Andrea Beard, that her original song, “ I Don’t Even Miss You”,  had been selected as the runner up in the high school division. She was awarded a cash prize and her song and bio was also linked on the JAS website and their associated social media.  In May 2024,  Madi was one of three vocal finalists in the high school division for the 2024 Wildflower Festival. As a finalist, she performed at the festival on the Bank of America / Songwriters stage. In December 2024, SongDoor International Songwriting Competition recognized two of her originals.  "Picking Up After You" was awarded an Honorable Mention and "I Don"t Even Miss You" was awarded an Honorable Mention with Special Recognition.   October  2024 presented a new learning curve with many new skills, as she began production of her first EP, which is now available on multiple streaming platforms, including Spotify and Apple Music.    Her website,  devoted to showcasing her studio recorded original works, launched in November 2024.

Madi is a member of Broadcast Music, Inc.  and Nashville Songwriters Association International. In addition to her writing and performing, she continues to study voice and guitar at the Rodman Steele Studio. On October 25, 2024, Madi released her first EP of original work on multiple streaming platforms, including Spotify and Apple Music,  though sadly,  "The Potato Famine" did not make the cut!  Madi looks forward to growing as an evolving artist, with a country heart. She is focused on pursuing a university experience expanding her songwriting skills and her understanding of the mechanics of the music industry.
